Thrilling and challenging

A proper hike that!
Quite honestly if I knew how steep the last part was I'd be a bit hesitant to go in the first place, but the reward was of course great!

Our driver Arya was as gentle as you could ever imagine. Picked us up on time and provided food and drinks for the drive/hike. Our guide (sorry forgot the name) was a true mountain goat with excellent knowledge of the hike and kept us calm even in the most hairy situations.

Please dress accordingly. It's cold and windy, and you will be sweaty when you reach the top which is not an excellent combination.

Would recommend this hike only for fit people.
Hard work rewards. Mt Agung Spectacular

The hike was amazing, difficult but amazing. A must if you are up for the challenge and prepared for the overnight 4.5hr hike uphill and a 3hr decent. Our driver from Tour Bali Drivers was also very good his name is Arya he spoke good English very friendly and a safe driver. He also has lots of local knowledge about the area. This volcano towers over everything in Bali truly spectacular.
Tough experience

I went on this trip with my friend.
Although I wasn't prepared for such a demanding trekking I have to say I liked the experience thoroughly from the organisational point of view. Ketut Murdita - our driver was cheerful and well informed. He provided us a great company and supplied with water. He also had chargers prepared when our phones discharged. Wayan Darta, our trekking guy - he was the coolest guide I've ever met. Apart from being well informed and helpful he really made an effort to cheer us up on this difficult trek with his vibrant personality and story telling. The trail tho, I would only recommend it for very experienced hikers. Beginners like me would probably struggle big time.
Amazing experience

Not easy at all, but worth it 100%
Everything was well prepared and we manage to hike to the top, our guide found a spot for us, and prepared the breakfast meantime, so we enjoy the breakfast and sunrise
Would only recommend if you are up for a challenge!

I would only recommend this tour if you are at least moderately fit and looking for a challenge! I enjoyed the trek because of the views but personally would not do it again.

Our tour started with getting picked up by our driver Arya who was absolutely amazing! He was so friendly and professional!

It took us about 2 hrs to get to the mountain from Ubud where we met our guide. Our guide hardly spoke English but that wasn’t a problem as he was very experienced climbing the mountain.

The climb itself was very difficult! There were a few times I thought about giving up but we made it!

The first part of the climb is through the jungle so I would recommend bringing bug spray and wearing long sleeves/ trousers.

The next part was full of loose rocks and boulders which was a bit difficult with it being dark. We were lucky with the clear sky and got to see amazing stars!

The last part was sheer cliff and very very dusty. The wind was so strong so we couldn’t actually get up the last 100m because the dust was going in our eyes.

If you do this trek make sure you bring warm clothes. I had a fleece and walking jacket on but was still shivering. You need hats and gloves to be warm.

Overall the trip took us 8hrs. It was about 5hrs up and 3hrs down. Going down was seriously hard on the knees so don’t do it if u have knee problems.

Again I would only say do this if you are up for a challenge because it was seriously physically and mentally challenging but feels like an achievement to have done it!
