What To Expect

Tirta Gangga
Tirta Gangga literally means water from the Ganges and it is a site of some reverence for the Hindu Balinese. Strictly, the name refers to the water palace built in 1948 by the Raja of Karangasem, Anak Agung Agung Anglurah Ketut Karangasem. It is, however, the name widely used to refer to the general area which includes the water palace and the lush rural areas around. Tirta Gangga water palace is a maze of pools and fountains surrounded by a lush garden and stone carvings and statues. The one hectare complex was built in 1946 by the late King of Karangsem but was destroyed almost entirely by the eruption of nearby Mount Agung in 1963. It has been lovingly re-built and restored and has an air of authentic royal magnificence.

The centrepiece of the palace is an eleven tiered fountain and there are many beautiful carvings and statues adorning the gardens. The area around Tirta Gangga is noted for its rice paddy terraces.

Lempuyang Temple
Pura Lempuyang Temple is a Balinese Hindu temple located in the slope of Mount Lempuyang, 600 meters above sea level.

Known on the island as one of the most highly regarded temples in Bali, it has become more popular in recent years among tourists because of Instagram.

The Bali gateway to heaven is quite far from a lot of other typical holiday destinations in Bali. Although that doesn’t stop people flocking out East to witness the view amongst the clouds and capture some beautiful photos.

Awesome trip to the gate of heaven ....
Amit_D, 25-09-2022
It was great experience. Very beautiful place, awe-inspiring views. The waiting for the heaven gate photo is long , but it's worth it. Our guide Ketut Mudita was very friendly. He gave us much information about the place and Bali in general.
Ketut helped in everything and made the tour even more memorable.
I would recommend this tour to all.
Most amazing trip with Boly and Katut

who went to Bali a good few years ago. She couldn't speak highly enough of them and their service.
I booked three trips with Ketut, all very reasonably priced and was assigned our driver Boly.

Boly was an incredible driver and also tour guide. No question was too small nor too hard. His knowledge was phenomenal and he is honestly just the most genuine guy we met. Also he took the best photos!

With the help of Boly and Ketut we saw Tahan Lot, Uluwatu, Mout Batur for a sunrise hike, Goa Lowa and so so much more.

Would definitely recommend Bali Safe Driver and Boly especially as your driver.
Fantastic

What a great trip. The drivers are so knowledgeable about everything in Bali, not just a trip to the sites, but a guided tour of the area as well. Nothing a problem, always looking after our possessions when we went to do anything.
Friendly, reliable and great service
Perfect Day with Excellent Service

Amazing tour, knowledgable, friendly and un-rushed drivers, spacious and clean cars.
We had a large group of 9 (age 8-51) and I wanted modern, clean, spacious and reliable cars that would operate at our pace. Safe Bali Driver was recommended by some friends who visited bali a month before us and they fit the bill perfectly. The drivers Agung and Boli spoke excellent English, were friendly and so flexible making multiple unscheduled stops (for shopping, random photos, food and the call of nature).
Even though a wide age group everyone loved the tour and allowed us to experience some real Balinese culture. There was a little queuing at the temple that was managed very well with a ticket system so no one was left out in the sun (or rain) too long and there were plenty of opportunities to take some breathtaking snaps. On the way back down from the temple there is an additional photo area which costs extra (~50pence gbp) to take sone additional photos of the distant mountain from a swing / seat / platform which is really impressive.
When we went to the waterfall there were quite a lot of steps down to the waterfall and trainers were a good idea however flip flops or water shoes are recommended as the bottom of the water fall is stony. (The drivers even leant the teenagers their own flip flops to protect their feet!)
The cost was ~£20-£25gbp each for the full day, which is excellent value for money!
Everything is easy with Ketut!! Best car for hire.

Going to Bali is expensive. Alcohol, eating out and taxis. It's true what you read regarding taxis. They don't use meter, and driver always ask beyond what should be the running rate is. I know. I tried. 10minutes drive to Potato head is already 100,000 with no traffic. After reading all of this, I saw one review that said to hire private cars instead. And this person highly recommended Safe Bali Driver. I hired Ketut 3x during my two visit in Bali. One time last Christmas 2019 and my recent trip, January 2020.

My first trip with Ketut to Ubud during Christmas time is wonderful. He is easy to talk to, pleasant, car is clean and he provides bottled water. We easily did our groceries before going back to our hotel to Nusa Dua. our driver did not complain and he is happy to drive you around. Only paid 600,000IDR. Private car with our own tour guide, our driver.

My Second trip, I was staying in Seminyak this time. I hired him to bring us to Omnia and wait for us until 8pm. We paid 500,000IDR

My last trip with Ketut, he drove us to Lempuyang, Ubud and straight to the airport for our red eye flight. It was just 800,000IDR and Ketut drove us more than 10hours. we were 4 people.

I highly recommend to hire a private driver when going for tours or even just go partying and you need a car waiting for you. Especially the latter part. When you get drunk, you just end up paying whatever they ask from you so you can go back to hotel and rest.
And ask for Ketut as driver. He is respectful, pleasant and very informative. Plus you can easily change your itinerary when you have your own car. I will ask for his service again when I come back. Also, tip the driver. ;)
