Overview

Between tropical forest and rice fields, Sangeh is the ideal place for a rural getaway through the lush vegetation. During this trek, we have time to admire the culture of the rice fields as well as the Balinese agricultural diversity. To access the sacred monkey forest, we climb the roots of a century-old tree. In this peaceful sanctuary, we can observe long-tailed macaques very closely, in the shade of giant nutmeg trees. In the middle of the forest we find a Hindu temple covered in exuberant moss. Our ride ends with a smudge ceremony in a local village. Dressed in traditional clothes, we enter the sacred baths to recharge our batteries in positive energies and we enjoy the present moment. Unforgettable and so soothing!

In the heart of the sacred forest of Sangeh, you will have the unique opportunity to see how the monkeys behave in complete freedom. You will admire an ancient Hindu temple from the 17th century, a legacy of the Mengwi estate.
