What To Expect

Barong & Kris Dance
Barong Dance is a mythical, shaggy half dog, half lion creature with a long mane, fantastic fangs and bulging eyes. Barong perform as a large lion type creature played by two men and Rangda is the epitome of evil with long fingernails and droopy breasts. Barong is going about his business until he is interrupted by Rangda, ultimately a battle ensues and the Barong followers begin attacking Rangda with their Keris (daggers).
Rangda being a witch and is able to use magical powers to turn the daggers against their owners who fall into a trance and try to stab themselves. In Balinese dance the movement is closely associated with the rhythms produced by the gamelan, a musical ensemble specific from Java and Bali. Multiple levels of articulations in the face, eyes, hands, arms, hips, and feet are coordinated to reflect layers of percussive sounds.

Celuk Village
The gold and silver items crafted at Celuk Village are of high quality and feature unique and elaborate designs as the craftsmen are known for their skills and their industriousness. Almost all of the households in the village are homes to jeweller families and each Celuk villager possesses artistic skills in developing and executing intricate designs and varying patterns. Kintamani Plateau
Kintamani Volcano is one of the most great places in Bali, wonderful mountain air and dizzying views in all directions, as well as several important temples. Besakih Temple
Besakih Temple which is known as Balis Mother Temple for over 1,000 years, sits 1,000 meters high on the southwestern slopes of Mount Agung. Besakih is an artistic and unique complex that comprises at least 86 temples which include the main Pura Penataran Agung (the Great Temple of State) and 18 others. Besakih is the biggest and holiest of the island temples and is surrounded by breathtaking and scenic rice paddies, hills, mountains, streams and more. To the Balinese, visiting the temple sanctuaries is a special pilgrimage. Mount Agung high location gives it an almost mystical quality. Many stairs lead up to the sacred mountain, leading to the many temples that vary according to types, status and functions.

Jambul Hill

The most unique of Kertha Gosa building is the ceiling made from the asbestos material fully decorated by the traditional painting with Kamasan style famous in 1930. Kertha Gosa or Taman Gili Kertha Gosa as its officially called is an historical landmark in the town of Klungkung. Kertha Gosa forms part of the Puri Semarapura royal palace and features two main structures, a grand hall or the namesake Bale Kertha Gosa with ceilings filled with Kamasan or wayang style paintings, and the Bale Kambang floating hall. Kertha Gosa complex dates back to 1686 when it was commissioned by Dewa Agung Jambe, then ruler of the Klungkung kingdom. Kertha Gosa has undergone a series of restorations in the past and is one of Bali most important historical sites, the site is open for the public to visit.
